Dear CETAF Directors, Dear CETAF Representatives, Dear colleagues,

The 49th CETAF Governing Board meeting (CETAF49) is approaching very rapidly and we look forward to meeting you all (again virtually) on 19th and 20th of May, 2021. We take this opportunity to thank the Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA) in Tervuren, BE, for hosting this meeting and supporting us in running it.

As you can see from attached document, we have an intensive Agenda and a very large variety of issues to address. Some of them (Session 1) are part of our regular business running, and some others (Session 2) are focused on the activity of CETAF Working Groups as well as the initiatives and projects we are embarked in. We look forward to hearing how our lively community progresses and reaches great achievements!. Moreover, we are delighted to inform you that very special guests will attend Session 3. Representatives from Directorates General for Environment and Research (DG ENV and DG RTD) as well as from BiodivERsA will present at CETAF49 their insights on the CETAF positioning in major EU framework initiatives and the importance of taxonomy in and across Europe. You cannot miss this opportunity to directly interact with them!. Finally, those presentations will lead us to the last Session 4 dedicated to shape our response to the Call HORIZON-CL6-DEC-2022-00-00: Building taxonomic research capacity near biodiversity hotspots and for protected areas by networking natural history museums and other taxonomic facilities, where CETAF community has an exceptional opportunity to play a leading role. For that, we request your active and collaborative participation in the Workshop!.

Further supporting documentation, guidelines to facilitate your participation and other organizational matters will follow in short and will be uploaded in the google drive that we have created for this purpose.

Meanwhile, to facilitate the organisation of the meeting, in its virtual environment, we kindly request that you register for the meeting as soon as possible by filling in the Registration Form.

We look forward to welcoming you to the upcoming meeting
