It is with great pleasure that I announce that we have won the Procurement contract under the call launched by the European Commission, for the
“Assessment of Taxonomic Expertise in Europe-the European Red List of Taxonomists”
using the IUCN methodology developed for threatened species.
This is a great achievement for the CETAF community and a fantastic way for us to move forward in identifying the
gaps in taxonomic knowledge across Europe (CETAF Strategy Focus area 1, Target 1.4) and the urgent need to
support and promote taxonomy as a fundamental science in addressing the biodiversity crisis.
We will keep you duly updated on this initiative and we will soon call for your engagement and contributions to implement this new success of CETAF.
