Dear CETAF colleagues,
From this General Secretariat, we wish to extend
our warmest wishes for a great year 2020 to all of you. May it be even more successful than the year 2019 was for our
CETAF joint activities!
- To start the new year off right, the European Commission has – just before Christmas – launched a roadmap process for the Biodiversity Strategy 2030! A hugely important
process for our community and an opportunity to make sure that ambitious biodiversity targets
are included into the strategy
(and more importantly for our community, how those anchor, link and can be achieved by fostering and promoting collections-based research). You can submit your feedback
here. Regrettably, since the unfortunate publication date, the feedback process will only be open until
20 January 2020.
- In other news, we have received the first nominations to our
CETAF E-SCORE award. Please take the opportunity of the new year to widely promote this opportunity within your institutions and networks! Deadline for applications is
31 January 2020.

- Likewise, we would like to ask you to equally promote the
final ICEDIG conference. This public event will take place on 26 February within the framework of DiSSCo RIsing - the Digital Transformation of Natural Science Collections. We would be very happy to welcome a large number of representatives at this conference.
