Subject: [CETAF_Members] SPNHC-ICOM Conference, Edinburgh 13-17 June 2020

Dear colleagues,

As you may already be aware, the joint meeting of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) and the International Council of Museums Natural History Section (ICOM NATHIST) will be held in Edinburgh on the 7th – 13th June 2020. The theme for the conference is "The role of natural history collections in global challenges". This is an opportunity to develop workshops and symposia which aim to fulfil the goals of DiSSCo and to strengthen the collaborative work of our community. It is also an opportunity for us to communicate with a wider community both within and outside Europe.

The deadline for submitting proposals for symposia and workshops for the SPNHC & ICOM NATHIST 2020 conference has now been extended to the 25th October 2019. This is to enable final planning for symposia and workshops to take place at Biodiversity_Next and at the CETAF 46^th Governing Board meeting (Leiden, NL, 21 October 2019).

However, we would still encourage people to submit proposals as soon as possible. After submitting, you will be able to edit them during the week of the Biodiversity_Next conference. We already have a number of symposia and workshops submitted and it will help our planning to receive notice of proposals as early as possible.
