Dear CETAF colleagues,
The CETAF ABS core team is organising a workshop on the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing on 1 April 2019 in Stockholm. This information has already been circulated to your ABS representatives but we felt it was beneficial to address a larger audience to enable all interested people to join the training event.
The event will last from 09:00 to 17:00 and take place at the Swedish Museum of Natural History. During the workshop, you will learn about practical examples of how to introduce ABS management and will have the opportunity to discuss practical challenges for managing ABS dimensions in collections management and taxonomic research.
The CETAF Code of Conduct, which forms the basis for this training, is available on the CETAF website: https://cetaf.org/services/natural-science-collections-and-access-and-benefit-sharing
If you want to attend, please register with a simple e-mail to info@cetaf.org. This training in the utilisation of the CETAF Code of Conduct is crucial for a number of reasons. For the CoC to work effectively, we need to join forces and implement it in all our institutions in a coherent manner. Furthermore, for it to be accepted as a guidance document on the European level, we have to show that we have successfully implemented the CoC across our consortium. Therefore it is important that as many institutions as possible are represented at the training event.
For questions regarding the logistics of the event, please contact johannes.bergsten@nrm.se. For questions on the content of the workshop, please contact neumann@snsb.de.
Kind regards,
The CETAF ABS Core Team and the CETAF General Secretariat
