The role of Earth Science collections within biodiversity research Jiří Frank 04 Mar 2019 16:34 CET

Dear colleagues,

as I mentioned recently, our symposium proposal for Biodiversity next
conference was successfully accepted. You can see the symposium abstract
final version on the conference website here
https://biodiversitynext.org/list-of-symposia-and-workshops/. The
symposium "The role of Earth Science collections within biodiversity
research" is in Science track.

We are now in the process of accepting the potential presentations
proposals for our symposium as it is mentioned in instructions bellow. I
am registered as symposium organiser together with Falko as
co-organiser, but if you would like to join the team, you are more then
welcome.

As I am not an native English speaker, any kind of help with language
and abstract corrections of selected potential proposals will be very
welcome.

If you would like to join, please do not hesitate to contact me and I
will add you via Gail to the system. In any case I would like to discuss
selected potential proposals with ESG as advisory group, before they
will be accepted or rejected.

Also please contact me, If you would like to submit your talk for the
symposium. The call for abstracts is now open via conference web page
https://biodiversitynext.org/.

Greetings from Prague,
Jiri

Předmět: SS14 Symposium Organizer Responsibilities

Dear Jiri,

As a symposium organizer of SS14 The role of Earth Science collections
within biodiversity research at Biodiversity_Next, you will receive
notification from pensoft.net for all abstracts submitted to your
symposium (both from those from whom you solicit contributions and from
others who think their abstract may fit in your topic). The following
were listed as co-organizers for your session:

Name: Falko Glöckler, Email: Falko.Gloeckler@mfn.berlin, Affiliation:
Museum für Naturkunde, Country: Germany

Please choose and notify one or more of the co-organizers listed to
review and edit abstracts and determine if they are suitable for your
symposium and for publication (see
https://biodiversitynext.org/instructions-for-editors/). The person(s)
you choose will also get notifications of new abstracts as they are
submitted and you should work out a routine to review content, edit
language, uphold the standards of the publication, and make the decision
about the suitability of any abstract presentation for your symposium.

Please make sure that at least one member of your team is proficient
enough in English to be able to work with authors on language and
abstract structure. As soon as possible please send me the name(s) and
email address(es) (preferably as they appear with Pensoft) of those who
have agreed to work with you. If you did not have co-organizers listed,
please specify at least one person with complementary skills to yours
for providing peer review and editing.

When you receive notifications of abstract submissions, please review
them as soon as possible. Members of the Programme Committee will be
available to answer any questions at editor@tdwg.org.

Sincerely,
Gail
